Developing Peer Support/CISM Teams

Service Description

This course provides practical guidance for developing, strengthening, and sustaining an effective Peer Support and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team. Participants will explore essential program components, including team structure, member selection, training standards, confidentiality, clinical oversight, leadership support, team activation, and appropriate CISM interventions. The course also addresses trust, ethical boundaries, operational readiness, and long-term program sustainability. Participants will leave with actionable strategies and tools to build a credible, well-trained team that supports personnel before, during, and after critical incidents. Ideal for public safety leaders, peer-support coordinators, clinicians, chaplains, and personnel responsible for employee wellness and critical-incident response.
